Heidelberg University Event
Field Station Map
Researchers from the National Center for Water Quality Research (NCWQR) at Heidelberg University visited the Fondriest Environmental facility and the Fondriest Center for Environmental Studies (Field Station) in late June of 2023. They currently have 20 automated samplers across Ohio and Michigan that collect nutrient data on Ohio’s streams and rivers. This research can be used to help predict harmful algal blooms in various water bodies and to obtain long-term data for future research.

The researchers from the NCWQR came to Fondriest Environmental to gain more knowledge on new equipment in the environmental field, to have their instruments calibrated and to have a well-rounded training on the equipment they currently have. During their visit, we demonstrated the various instruments at the field station for weather and water quality monitoring, and presented the real time data being collected.

Overall, the visit left them with a better understanding of various weather and water quality monitoring instruments in the environmental field.
